History
JR Plastics has a rich and storied history that began in 1997 as a humble family business founded by James Wear. Working alongside his three sons, Daniel, Jesse, and Jimmy Wear, they strive to make their mark in the plastic manufacturing industry.
From the outset, JR Plastics demonstrated a relentless commitment to excellence in both product quality and service. We quickly gained a reputation for supplying top-notch plastic sheets to various industries, including tank fabrication, outdoor furniture, boat manufacturers, and more.
Not content with merely meeting industry standards, James Wear's innovative spirit led to groundbreaking developments. He successfully engineered WearDeck composite lumber, a remarkable product that soon caught the attention of Owens Corning, which now proudly owns it.
Additionally, JR Plastics' dedication to innovation extended beyond composite lumber. Recognizing the rigorous shipping needs of the banana industry, James pioneered the first plastic cornerpost in the market. This innovation, known as Banaboard (banaboard.com), revolutionized unitization and palletization for fresh produce, setting a new standard for the industry.
